About WriteHacker

Wednesday, 07. 30. 2008

WriteHacker is a blog that packages information about a mind-boggling range of topics and serves them up in small, digestible portions. Think of it as tapas for the brain.

My name is Denise Marie Anton. I write most of the posts here at WriteHacker, with help from the occasional guest blogger and the incisive comments of readers like you.

My addiction to reading and writing began not long after the first Sputnik satellite went into orbit. Over the ensuing half-century, I’ve been absorbing information — both useful and useless — at an ever-accelerating pace.

WriteHacker is my way of wrestling some of that information into usable form and sharing it with curious but busy people like you.

The posts here cover a wide range of topics, but they have two things in common:

1. They’re short. Very short. I’ve arbitrarily set an upper limit of 250 words.

2. As a consequence, they’re low in fluff and high in useful information, including plenty of links in case you’re still hungry for more.

As for my credentials: My B.A. is in History, my Ph.D. is in English, and over the past 17 years I’ve taught college-level courses in composition, literature, business writing, and oral communication. I’ve also had a hand in just about every kind of freelance writing and editing project out there: from news briefs to novels, from unpaid reviews to scholarly articles on entrepreneurship to multimillion-dollar health research grant proposals. And I’ve been writing for online publication for more than a decade.

Thank you for visiting WriteHacker. If you enjoy what you’re reading here and want to keep up with the latest posts, you can subscribe to my RSS feed. And you can follow WriteHacker on Twitter at http://twitter.com/WriteHacker.
